Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle form of treatment based on osteopathy that works with the nervous system, spine and deeper states of tension stored in the body. Using light touch, gentle strokes and subtle release techniques, the body is guided into a state of deep relaxation, where it can be easier to let go of stress, strain and chronic tension. Many people feel calmer, lighter and more grounded after the treatment, especially when there is exhaustion, overexcitement, headaches, anxiety or a feeling of being constantly "on the go".
What is it?
The craniosacral system consists of membranes, connective tissues, and fluids surrounding the brain, spinal cord, and central nervous system. These structures are closely connected to the skull, spine, and sacrum, and play an important role in the body's internal balance and regulation.
In this system, cerebrospinal fluid moves rhythmically through the skull and spine, nourishing and protecting the nervous system. Restrictions in connective tissues, chronic muscle tension, stress-related loading patterns, or postural compressions can affect the natural mobility and adaptability of these structures.
The purpose of the treatment is not to forcefully manipulate, but to create space, softness, and release in the tissues.
As the body relaxes, many experience a sense of inner opening, a release of breathing, a deeper grounding, and a release of chronic tension patterns. In some cases, this deep relaxation can also support small structural changes related to posture, breathing, and the release of accumulated tension in the body.

Body and Nervous System Power....
The body is constantly adapting to physical stress, emotional experiences, overload, postural habits, trauma and everyday demands. Over time, these experiences can create subtle patterns of protection in the muscles, fascia and nervous system. Craniosacral therapy can help the body move from a state of constant activation to a state where rest, recovery and integration of experiences are once again possible. This is why many describe the treatment experience as deeply calming, meditative or grounding. The body no longer has to maintain the same unconscious level of tension and alertness, allowing a new kind of rest and relaxation to become possible. The treatment is not only based on technique, but also on presence and deep listening. The quality of attention and presence in the treatment situation plays an important role, as it helps the nervous system feel safe enough to soften, relax and find new, more balanced ways of functioning.
My Personal Approach
My work is also influenced by studies in emotional and developmental anatomy. In some treatment sessions, the approach may include a more supportive and holding-oriented style of work, where certain areas of the body are touched in a way that helps the client feel safer, more supported, and more grounded throughout the session.
Some areas of the body may hold deeply ingrained protective patterns that are related not only to physical tension, but also to early developmental experiences and emotional states. This perspective is always approached with gentleness, respect, and without any intention of forcing emotional processes to emerge.
The work itself is highly subtle. Rather than using strong manipulation techniques, I employ gentle micro-mobilizations and fascial techniques that invite the tissues to relax naturally and restore their inherent mobility.
In some sessions, craniosacral therapy may also be integrated with massage. Treatment may begin with deeper muscular or fascial work designed to open the body and release more superficial layers of tension. This can help calm the nervous system and prepare the body to receive the more subtle aspects of craniosacral work.
Every session is unique, as each person's nervous system responds in its own individual way. Treatment is therefore tailored to the needs of the client in the present moment, creating a safe and supportive environment that encourages relaxation, body awareness, and overall well-being.
